Annual Christmas Tree Decorating & Lighting at Town Hall
Friday November 18th at 6:00 p.m.
This has been a long tradition in the Downtown for over 18 years. During the day daycare children and school students are invited to come and place a handmade decoration on the tree in front of town hall. They are treated to cookies and hot chocolate. At 6:00 p.m. the Mayor will throw the switch that lights up the tree. Carolers will lead the crowd in singing many of our favorite Christmas songs.

As a Thank You to our Downtown customers there is an annual draw for a a Gift Basket containing hundreds of dollars in gift certificates and small gifts from many of our downtown merchants

Ballot boxes are located in many of our Downtown Businesses and every time you make a purchase you will be given a ballot (List of businesses will be added soon)

Draw will take place on Tues. Dec. 20 at 3:00 p.m in the DBA office

Experience the 1st Annual Great Plates of Downtown Smiths Falls, 14 nights of $25 dinner specials.
Each participating restaurant will be offering their own unique dinner specials to show off their specialties and favourite ingredients! It could be dinner for four or it could be a gourmet treat for one. Attendees will be able to enjoy this culinary celebration while experiencing Downtown Smiths Falls—A Great Place to Be!

Christmas Window Decorating Contest
Judging will be on Friday November 26 between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Judging
will be based on - Originality: Unique design and creative use of
decorations; Arrangement: Display and placement of decorations; Theme:
Use of Christmas Theme and Overall Presentation. There will be a cash
prize of $50 to the winning business.

Friday November 26th at 6:00 p.m.
This has been a long tradition in the Downtown for over 15 years. During the day daycare children and school students are invited to come and place a handmade decoration on the tree in front of town hall. They are treated to cookies and hot chocolate. At 6:00 p.m. the Mayor will throw the switch that lights up the tree. Carolers will lead the crowd in singing many of our favorite Christmas songs. New this year Santa will lead the carolers through Downtown Smiths Falls with jingles bells (supplied by DBA) for the 1st Annual Jingle Bell Walk.
Twas the Night Before Christmas in Downtown Smiths Falls
Saturday November 27th from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- Photo with Santa at the Legion from 10:00 - 3:00
- Twas the Night before Christmas Sculpted Cake will be on display from 10-1 at the Legion and will be served at 1:00 p.m. Cake donated by Ottawa Valley Cakes from Almonte
- Reading of the Children's Classic "Twas the Night Before Christmas" on the hour and half hour at the Legion by Smiths Falls Children Library and other guest readers to be announced.
- Lots of food available for purchase outside throughout downtown - Candy Floss, popcorn, apple cider and hot chocolate
- Music
- Clowns
- Ballots boxes will be place in many businesses (look for the participating business poster) for a draw on a gift basket containing hundreds of dollars of gift certificates. Draw will be held on Monday Nov. 29 at the DBA office at 2:00 p.m.
- Many Downtown stores will be offering in store specials this day!
